Writer. Editor. Performance Poet. Creative Writing Workshop Facilitator. I like to fill the fire with irons and then complain about being too busy.
I currently serve as editor for World Outreach International and MindLife Success. My poetry, fiction, and nonfiction have appeared in hundreds of publications, including The Cafe Review, Ledge Magazine, Margie, Pearl, Spoon River Poetry Review, and Stolen Island Review. Three of my poems have been featured on The Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor, and I received an Emerging Artist Award from St. Botolph Club Foundation in 2013.
I have featured at dozens of venues all over the country and proudly represented Portland, Maine at the 2013 National Poetry Slam and the 2014 Individual World Poetry Slam. I will also represent Maine, along with three other stellar poets, at the 2015 National Poetry Slam in Oakland, California.
I graduated from the Stonecoast MFA program in 2006. A former high school English teacher and college writing instructor, I now lead creative writing workshops for writers of all ages and abilities.
Thanks for visiting my virtual home. When technology makes it possible, I will begin serving dark chocolate and coffee here.
